NGK Iridium spark plugs represent the most advanced technical solution on the market. They feature a fine Iridium tip on the center electrode, laser-welded using a special process.
The service life of an Iridium spark plug is 2 times longer than that of a standard spark plug.
The self-cleaning effect of Iridium spark plugs
The ceramic insulator equipped with 'stepped' technology generates an electrical arc around the electrode which cleans carbon deposits located around it. This self-cleaning technology ensures that the ignition voltage is not diverted and thus generates misfires.
Furthermore, the use of Iridium allows to:
• Reduce the center electrode to a very fine tip of 0.6 mm in diameter
• Decrease the voltage required for ignition
• Improve ignition in the combustion chamber.
