The new Evotech crash pads have been designed and manufactured to absorb impact in the event of a fall. This means the impact is absorbed by the slider and does not act directly on the frame. In the event of a fall, the slider is pressed onto a specially designed spacer, whose diameter increases. The slider then deforms, which reduces the energy caused by the impact. The crash pad slider is made of a plastic compound containing fiberglass. It combines high shock absorption and abrasion resistance with low friction on asphalt. This way, the pad slides on the asphalt without excessive wear or dangerous locking. The aerodynamic shape of the crash pad not only gives the bike a more aggressive look, but also reduces the chance of the slider catching on an obstacle upon impact. The plastic pads are also engraved with a graduated scale, which gives an indication of impact resistance in the event of a collision. The main part of the crash pad is made from aerospace-grade billet aluminum and is coated with a black anodized finish for added durability. The diameter and cross-section are precisely calculated to further reduce the stresses on the frame in the event of a collision.
