EBC Prolite floating brake disc, Full Floater. MADE IN THE UK. The development goal is to improve braking performance compared to the original disc. EBC uses low-carbon HPSR steel, which has an 18% higher coefficient of friction. This steel is much more resistant to rust than cast steel. Furthermore, the entire surface is protected by a 3-micron thick zinc layer that wears off during braking in the contact area of the brake pads. It is only in this area that superficial rust can form during long-term use. The brake discs are drilled in a bird-wing pattern to have as few holes as possible while optimizing the cleaning of the disc from rainwater and brake dust. The fewer holes, the better the braking performance on wet surfaces and the lower the wear. - Brake ring machined from low-carbon forged HPSR steel. - Therefore, no brake disc deformation, even under maximum load. - No glazing of the braking surface, so the coefficient of friction remains constant. - Braking surface drilled with an optimized hole pattern. - Galvanized for corrosion protection. - Anodized aluminum hub. - Minimal manufacturing tolerances. - Original design.
