These are spiral springs from 4 to 8 pieces per set, made from heat-treated high carbon steel and come in different shapes and sizes offering different spring tensions depending on the size of the motorcycle and the power of your engine. It is important to note that you cannot alter the basic shape of these springs to gain a performance advantage but you can purchase an EBC Brakes CSK kit whose winding material is slightly softer and which offers 10 to 15% higher clamping pressure. This can help reduce slipping or rapid wear of your machine's clutch. All springs fatigue and should be replaced with every engine rebuild or clutch overhaul.
