NGK Spark Plug The secret of the new Iridium IX spark plug is the laser-welded iridium electrode. Due to its "minimum" diameter of only 0.6 mm, it concentrates the ignition voltage. Advantages: The optimal ignition properties of Iridium IX spark plugs prevent sooting during stops and travel. Misfires or misses are avoided. This reduces pollutant emissions and (if available) protects the catalyst and the environment. Iridium IX spark plugs ensure "smooth" engine operation, increase the driving experience through better acceleration, and thus offer more driving pleasure. The Iridium IX spark plug lasts at least twice as long as any normal spark plug. Frequent spark plug changes are "out of service". This in turn reduces costs. Maximum ignition safety, uniform combustion, optimal engine performance, spontaneous throttle response are the result of the latest technologies and reduce fuel consumption. The optimized electrode shape reduces ignition voltage requirements, protects the engine, and ensures "smooth" operation.
